I regularly tell my students that the only way to become a better _______ is to do more of that.
To become a better reader, one must read.
To become a better writer, one must write.
Yet sometimes I find it difficult to practice becoming a better artist. So, I’m trying to force myself to sketch more. In this case, I used pen and ink to sketch an anthropomorphic egg on a brick wall with an apple.
He’s wearing shoes and lederhosen.
Why?
Does it matter why?! Quit asking questions like that! The important part is the practice, right?
Hey Firetower peeps,
Comics blogger Chuck Suffel did an interview today with Firetower Studios’ own Jeremy Whitley. In the interview they talk a great deal about Princeless, making comics, and what’s in store for Firetower Fans over the next year. Check it out and be sure to be kind and leave a comment. Thanks again to Chuck for the opportunity.
Here’s a new review of the series from Angie Spoto at Ms. Comix.
Among other things, she says this: ”I want my little sister to read this comic. I want my future daughter to read this comic. I want you to go out and read this comic and then go out and read this comic to the little girl or boy in your life.”
It’s more or less a positive review…
Hey everybody.
There’s an interview up about Princeless with Firetower writer Jeremy Whitley. You should read it here: http://beckyjewell.com/blog/?p=98
Anyone who’s been a fan of Firetower Studios for any length of time will remember that Sequential Tart was a huge supporter of our first issue. Well, we’ve gotten a review back from Holly of Sequential Tart on Issue 2 and it continues the trend. Click through and check it out!
